My little girl loves this book! She just turned six, but we started reading it while she was five. There is enough artwork to hold her attention for a little bit, but I think the material in the lessons must be what is holding her attention so well. The worships are all of short duration, just like it should be for a child. She wouldn't repeat prayers after me---until I started using this book that is! This book was the turning point for that. The book is really high-quality in every way, though I would recommend having the book opened up in the middle and running your finger down the creases on each side of the pages each direction until you are finished to increase the life of the backing---which works for all books! I have to admit I probably wouldn't have ever bought this book because of the"duck commander" part had I not been able to see it physically and preview it. After that, I knew I wanted it! The content is awesome! Just the things I want to emphasize to my child!Product details

Nice devotional book for kids in the 3-6 age range. Some of the story references are a bit odd if your kids to not watch the show, but still, good little quick lessons. It creates a good conversation starter around Biblical lessons. Better than some of the other kids Bibles/devotionals at actually getting into a simple topic/lesson.
Great book overall! I feel like some of the stories are a little too old for my 5 year old (nothing inappropriate just stuff he does not understand) but I like that they are short and to the point since his focus is not that long. Great for reading at a meal!
My 9 year old grandson and I just finished this book tonight. We both love it! My grandson wants to start it over tomorrow, even though I had another book picked out to move on to. The devotionals are good quick lessons for my grandson. Everything about the book is perfect for us.
My 6 year old son and I read these every night. I love the duck commander in action part, where it tells you how you can do an activity to relate to the devotional. The only thing I noticed is it focuses some of them on the husband working and providing....and the wife basically doing nothing. In our family I (wife) am the provider for the family (both income and insurance).
LOVE THIS BOOK! I bought this book for my 6 yr old grandson. He has always loved watching Duck Dynasty ever since he was a baby. He is familiar with all of the people in the book. He looks forward to having someone read his devotional to him every night. This has been a great thing to add to his bedtime ritual. We say the prayer that goes along with each story and then finish with his normal night time prayers.
I used to be a big Duck Commander fan. Now, I'm ok with it, but not a weekly watcher. So, I didn't seek out this book. I happened across it in a bookstore and was really impressed. It introduces a Bible concept by telling a real story from their lives. It gives a way to practice that in your life. Then, it has a small prayer. It is at my child's level (7-year-old boy). He watched Duck Commander with us, so because he recognized the Duck Commander name, he was excited to read this book.
No matter what your feelings on Duck Commander, this is a good devotion for kids. I haven't finished the book, but haven't run across anything that would be considered radical like some of the beliefs that this family has portrayed in the media.
This is one of the best Christian kids books out there. My kids love the pictures and the lessons. I like that there is a new verse each day. The lessons are perfect in length- long enough to teach the point without being so long it's boring. So each lesson is 2 pages. It gives you the verse, teaches about what the verse means and how to apply it their lives. The commander in action portion serves as another life application tool with examples. It's easy to understand and fun. We read one every morning and read the same one at night after getting ready for bed and we talk about how we put that lesson into practice that day. My kids love it and remind me if I forget to pull the book out.
